Celtic linked defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is looking to complete a permanent move away from Tottenham Hotspur as the Hoops loan deal option gets shut down.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic were keen to explore the possibility of bringing the American defender on loan to Parkhead.

However, a temporary move is a ‘non-starter’ for Carter-Vickers, who is looking to secure his exit from the English Premier League side.

The North London side has set the asking price at around £5 million, with several clubs swooping around in interest for the defender, whose contract ends next summer.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is in desperate need of defensive options. So far, he has secured the services of Carl Starfelt but is still in need of more reinforcements at the back.

Carter-Vickers is one of many options that have been mentioned in the press in recent weeks.

At this stage, Celtic fans are desperate to see some new, quality players come in the defensive area after yet another disappointing display on Saturday night.
