Well respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has announced the Celtic target Carl Starfelt is now completed, pending medical. The Swedish international will travel to Glasgow ‘within the next 24 hours’ to undergo medical examinations to finalise his move. The Italian transfer guru insists the deal is concluded ‘in every detail’. This tweet was deleted, however he replaced it confirming that the deal is done.

Here is his deleted Tweet;

Celtic are extremely short of players in central defence, and getting Starfelt in the door should be a matter of urgency for those involved with the deal.

Kris Ajer looks set to move down south to newly promoted side Brentford with Carl Starfelt being his successor.

The 26-year-old will have big boots to fill in Glasgow and must hit the ground running. If deemed to be Match fit Starfelt could feature in Celtic’s Champions League opener on Tuesday evening, as the club have the power to add two additional players to the squad.

This deal is as good as done according to the reports, but as ever fans await official confirmation.
