Former Celtic coach and now Hibernian assistant manager Garry Parker said the Easter Road side WILL field John McGinn in the Europa League on Thursday if a deal with Celtic has not been reached by that point.

With John in limbo at the moment, well aware in the interest from his bhoyhood heroes he is being a model professional and played well in Hibs defeat to Blackburn at the weekend.

Things seem to be moving along with regards to the transfer but it’s not all signed and sealed yet. This leaves John waiting for the move but still being a Hibs player and Garry Parker feels the midfielder will be capable to play in the Europa League qualifier IF he is till a Hibby.

“John got stuck in, put his foot in and passed the ball well. But he could have done better like everyone else. We’ve heard nothing more [from Celtic] and if he’s still here, of course he will play [in Europa Qualifiers].”

There would be no conflict at this stage if John did play in Europe for Hibs as he would still be eligible to play for Celtic in the Champions League qualifiers should the transfer go through.
