CELTIC have been linked with a lot of players over the past two weeks. Mostly we’ve seen the positions that immediately filled being linked with a move to the club; centre back, right back, left mid.

However, a rumour about the Hoops potentially making a move for left-back Lee Buchanan has taken us by surprise.

Celtic have three choices at left back right now; Greg Taylor, Boli Bolingoli and Adam Montgomery. While many fans might feel all three are not the answer, the left back position is not a high priority under the circumstances.

Seemingly, it’s not stopped Celtic taking a look at possible transfers in this position.

Top journalist Alan Nixon confirmed there’s ‘Definite Interest’ in the Derby defender but he was sceptical if Celtic would meet the valuation for the player.

The club would have to move one of their current left-backs out the door to justify bringing in another man in the same position.

The 20-year-old has one-year left on his Derby deal according to Transfermarkt but Derby will still look for a decent fee that could deter the Hoops.

The bhoys have their first league game on Saturday, before that they have a Champions League qualifier in Denmark. The squad is lacking in both depth and quality at this point.

  1. Where are you coming from if you think we dont need left backs, Bolingoli and Taylor are poor and should be nowhere near the pitch
