UEFA could be set to delay The outcome of Celtic’s hearing over the use of pyro until Friday or even early next week it has emerged.

Record Sport report the charge which was supposed to be dealt with today might go into overtime as UEFA mull over what punishment the club will receive.

The charge relates to the pyro in the Green Brigade’s excellent Muhammad Ali banner against Cluj in the Europa League.

Celtic have already had a €12k fine this season for similar reasons against AIK in the Europa League Playoff. Another fine is likely but it shouldn’t be more than that.

Considering Celtic’s euro rivals have only had a section of their stadium shut down over a very serious racist charge – any similar punishment for Celtic would be outlandish.

Celtic have discouraged the use of pyro for many years now because of UEFA rules and now are set to take new measures to stop fans getting in with them in the first place.
