Celtic could be on the brink of cashing in on Moussa Dembele’s sell-on fee after Lyon admitted the player has agreed a deal to move to La Liga.
The news has been doing the round for a week whether Atletico will stump up a large fee for the French striker in January or if it will be a loan with an obligation to buy.
If it’s the latter, Celtic will need to wait until the summer for a payout.
Rumours of a £35m fee has been doing the rounds but, Lyon Sporting Director Juninho only confirmed Moussa wants to leave and that he’s agreed terms ahead of a move.
GFFN reported Juninho’s comments:
“Moussa came to see me, he thinks that this is the moment to change teams, that he has lost a bit of motivation… I think he has agreed terms with Atletico Madrid.”
Moussa left Celtic for Lyon during Brendan Rodgers last season at the club. The bhoys paid less then £1m to bring him in from Fulham and he left for £22m to return to his homeland.
He now looks set to light up La Liga and take the next step in his career.
