Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele has set out his aims ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, as he looks to make his impression on the Hoops side.

The 19-year old has been a talked about character for years at the club, but after making his debut back in 2019 under Neil Lennon, was rarely seen again, bar a few cameos off the bench here and there.

Now though, as quoted by Glasgow Live he is looking to impress new boss Ange Postecoglou and get off to a flyer this season, as he begins to enjoy playing football again.

“It was obviously good to get out there, play 45 minutes and enjoy my football again. I was pleased with my performances as well.

“It was good to score, but just enjoying football again, I think that’s the main thing because obviously, I’ve not played for a while. It was good to get out there and just have fun.

“When you’re not playing you’re obviously motivated to play, but when you are out there you just want to give it your all and show what you can do, and obviously score and just enjoy the game.”

On his first-team ambitions, he added: “I’m training every day just to try and show the manager what I can do. It’s good to get more minutes in the legs as well.”

Dembele started his pre-season off strongly grabbing the first goal in a 2-1 victory over English League One side Charlton Athletic.

Celtic fans will be hoping to see a lot more of the young winger and finally get a proper breakthrough campaign in the first-team for the Bhoys.

The way that Ange Postecoglou plays football sounds perfect for Dembele going into next season. The 55-year old has stated his belief in wide players being exciting talents, who can change the game.

With the ability and talent that Karamoko has, this could truly be his breakout year in a Celtic strip.
