Celtic have been on a downward trajectory this season and when we think we can’t go lower, we manage to outdo ourselves.

A team we know can perform, isn’t performing and everyone is speculating why.

While we can all place blame wherever we see fit, there’s one man who calls the shots at Celtic and according to Phil Mac, he’s in town.

The Irish based reporter has claimed Dermot Desmond is in town today and that Neil Lennon had already had an awkward zoom call with the majority shareholder after the Glasgow Derby game.

Phil writes:

‘As I have already reported after the Derby defeat, Neil had a rather uncomfortable on screen chat with the man who calls the shots at Celtic.

‘Mr Desmond does not like failure, and my information is that he was in Glasgow last night for the European match. What I have not reported until now is that I was late last week that possible replacements had been considered.

‘My information is that representatives of two managers currently based in England were contacted for exploratory talks in London.’

Now, we cannot back these claims up, we are reporting what Phil has said to this point.

Seemingly the journalist has the ear of someone at Celtic Park to confidently relay this information.

This isn’t what we need to be honest. We must look to decisively sort our problems. Whispers and hearsay do nothing for the dressing room or the manager.

If Desmond isn’t confident about what’s going on then something should be done sooner rather than later. If he believes Neil is the man, then come out and tell us so we can at least put an end to whispers.

  1. The guy has been a disaster waiting to happen. I will never understand why he was given the task considering his volatile history.
