Incoming Celtic CEO Dominic McKay appears to have begun his duties in the role early, as it has been reported he has been involved in talks with Eddie Howe alongside Dermot Desmond.

As reported by Sun Sport, McKay has supposedly held talks with Howe alongside majority shareholder Dermot Desmond in London as the Englishman edges closer to replacing former boss Neil Lennon as the new permanent manager of the club.

The details of this meeting, appear to show that advance talks have been held with the former Bournemouth manager. The report suggests that Howe could be appointed as early as next week and earn a wage close to that of Brendan Rodgers who earned around £2.3 million a year.

McKay has been involved in these talks three months before he is officially set to take up his place as the new chief executive, placing the out-going Peter Lawwell.

The club has a massive rebuild coming over the next few months, so it does make sense that McKay plays his part in talks with potential managers as Eddie Howe looks to be moving a step closer to becoming the new boss.

  1. If so, who is going to be Eddie’s interpreter for the ned???? Hope whoever gets picked, knows the pitfalls of failure. As we don’t suffer fools gladly.
And how did Bournemouths last European run go????????
Yes I thought so. We’re waiting for our ship to come in, and we’re waiting at St George’s Road subway Station.
