CELTIC were linked for a move for Le Mans Stephane Diarra earlier this week.

The player has been impressing in France and has drawn attention to himself from a number of clubs.

Speaking about that interest in him, Le Mans President Thierry Gomez spoke about Stephan and the rumours surrounding him.

“We’ll need to get used to these rumours. After that I’m not unhappy if some of our players are of interest to other clubs, that’s just proof that we’re working well. So far we haven’t had any offers. After that, Stephane knows where he’s come from.” Gomez told Quest France.

“We went and got him from Rennes when he was having a difficult time, we’ve relaunched him well. If something were to happen, it would happen with our support.”

The midfielder is only 20 and has a lot more developing to do in football. However, Celtic are in the market for young, raw talented players who can come into the club and make an impact.

The name of the game for the last ten years and more has been to buy young and fairly cheap, develop them and then sell them for a large fee.

This has happened a lot in recent times with Celtic raking in big fees for young talent.

Celtic are not shy about looking in the French market and will likely keep searching the country for talent they can use.
