Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has opened up on his delight at his Hoops sides result and performance in Wednesday night’s 3-0 victory against Glasgow rivals Rangers.

The 56-year old continued his impressive turnaround of the Bhoys in his first six months of the job, sending the Hoops to the top of the Scottish Premiership once again after the midweek win.

Speaking to the press about his experiences of the derby at Paradise, Postecoglou opened up on the excitement of the fixture, stating that he ‘didn’t sleep for quite a while’, due to the result and the atmosphere within the ground.

However, the former Socceroos boss was straight onto the next game the following day, insisting he wants to create more memories like that going forward this season.

“It was obviously a good night, the whole experience from the atmosphere created by our supporters to understanding the consequences of the result against the opposition we were playing,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“The most important thing was our performance. It was a nice one.

“I got home but didn’t sleep for quite a while. You want to digest it all and understand it all from a football perspective.

“Just to take it all in because you need to get up the next day and get on with the next one.

“It’s the nature of football and the nature of my personality. I like moving on quickly because if that was special, I want to start work on the next special one.

“There will be plenty of time in my old age to reflect on these things. That’s not me dismissing it.

“You have to enjoy it, and I said to the players they should enjoy their performance and what they created the other night.

“But the key is, do they want more of that? I certainly do. I fully want it for this football club.

“Me moving on is not me forcing myself to draw a line under the excitement. It’s more, what can we do next that creates another special moment for the club.”

It would have certainly been a hell of an experience for Postecoglou on Wednesday night, with the Celtic support showing once again why they have such a good reputation around the world.

I am sure we can all relate to similar experiences to Ange, of failing to get to sleep in the aftermath of a derby game, purely down to the adrenaline and excitement.

But, it is also great to hear his focus switched straight back to the job at hand, with plenty of opportunities on the horizon to be amidst that special crowd again.
