NEIL LENNON has been thrilled with Diego Laxalt since the player came in on deadline day.
A major reason why he’s settled so quickly is Olivier Ntcham’s support, the duo know each other well from their time at Genoa and they’ve linked back up on the training ground for Celtic so far.
The Celtic gaffer admires the language barrier is tricky at the moment but having players in the squad who can help the left-back is vital.
Lennon told The Celtic View : “New players coming in and knowing other boys is definitely a plus point.
“With Diego for example, his English isn’t great at the minute, so Olivier will be very important to him. You can even see them talking to each other at training, with Olivier helping to explain to him what the drills are and what the premise of the session is.
“Diego is a good footballer, he settles into that and sees things very quickly.”
There’s an outside chance Laxalt plays some part in the Glasgow Derby, although Neil Lennon has never been a manager to throw his new stars in at the deep end.
Greg Taylor player left wing-back for Scotland on Wednesday night in their win over the Czech Republic and will most likely get the nod.
The game is set to go ahead on Saturday with no fans inside the stadium. The bhoys will have no home advantage on the day but will be determined to make their mark. It will be a while before Diego or anyone else feels the full Celtic Park experience.
