ERIK SVIATCHENKO joined his old club on-loan in January hoping to be part of the squad who won the Danish league with FC Midtjylland.

However, having put up a strong fight all season and even being at the top of the league for a spell, the last two games have seemingly dashed Erik’s hopes of returning to Celtic with a Danish League medal to his name.

With the league at a dead heat between Midtjylland and Brondby going into the playoff rounds, Erik’s loan side fell to a 3-2 defeat even though they had taken an early two goal lead giving Brondby a three point lead at the top.

Things went from bad to worse for the Danish side when they faced Aalborg at the weekend – needing a last minute goal to salvage a point from the game while Brondby marched on with a commanding five point lead.

The title looks out of reach now with Brondby in firm control of their own destiny much to the disappointment of the Celtic defender.

The team can gain some sort of retribution this weekend when they take on their league rivals in the semi final of the Danish Cup. Can Erik and Co exercise their ghosts from two weeks ago to book their place in the final?
