Since Leigh Griffiths took some much needed time out from football, Celtic have been left with one recognised striker at the club in the shape of Odsonne Edouard. With a fixture pile up for December there were concerns about players getting overplayed or in particular in the French striker’s case, picking up an injury.

Tonight those concerns have become reality as the striker came off injured after he played his part in two of Celtic’s goals. Edouard was replaced by Mikey Johnstone who made an immediate impact and smashed a goal in for himself just before halftime.

Celtic fans will wait eagerly now for news of Edouards injury. Celtic have 3 huge games to finish off the year. The most notable, two away trips to Pittodrie and Ibrox. The thought of going to either ground without a natural striker will cause some concern for Celts. At this moment in time Celtic have eight players out with injuries. Tonight Anthony Ralston and Mikey Johnston are taking their chance and putting themselves into contention should more experienced players not make it back in time.

Fingers crossed for French Eddie.
