Former Celtic fullback and pundit Mark Wilson described this afternoon’s performance from striker Odsonne Edouard as ‘disasterous’.

Speaking on Clyde One SuperScoreboard, it was a poor afternoon for the Frenchmen in front of goal, missing a couple of key chances in the game and Wilson believes he could have done better with all of his opportunities in front of goal.

“Edouard is judged on goals and chances, and he’s missed three.

“I even think the opportunity he creates for himself in the first half he should have done better.

“His finish, I still think it is a tap-in, his volley he should put in the back of the net and a missed penalty, you’ve got to say it’s been disastrous afternoon for him.

“He is judged on goals, no matter his link-up play or other bits are good, but if you miss three chances in this game that is what you are remembered for.”

In the last few years, the 23-year old has been ever-reliable in front of goal, especially in the key moments of games. But this afternoon’s fixture summed up not only his season but the clubs as a whole.

It is almost certain that we will see Edouard exit the club in the summer and the money we make for the French under-21 internationalist could be key in funding the rebuild going into next season.

This season and the performances we have seen is not the sort of send-off we would like to have seen for the likes of Edouard. Unfortunately, though this is how his time at the club will come to an end.

  1. He’s too temperamental. Needs to finish better. He’s off now and thank goodness he is. Better we find a CF who is a finisher, even on a sh1tty day in Govan than miss sitters and leave empty-handed.
He’s no world-beater as Henrik was. Bye, bye Eddy.
