CELTIC brought two players to the club on loan during the summer window. Both Jota and Carter-Vickers have impressed in their first year at Celtic, and fans are hoping that the club will bring the players in permanently.

Of course, both players have the option to buy in their loan contract, but the decision on their future lies with the player. Celtic are keen to make both signings permanent but face competition from other clubs.

The deals are pretty expensive, with Carter-Vicker’s rumoured to rise to £10 million, but the quality of the player is there for all to see.

Jota is slightly cheaper, with his clause thought to be about £6.5 million. Although, it’s rumoured that his parent club are looking to offer the winger a new contract to tempt him to stay in Portugal.

As quoted by the Scotsman, Postecoglou confirmed that the clubs were in talks;

“The last thing in their minds is next year as they see the possibilities of what we can do this year. Michael is in charge of that aspect, the discussions are ongoing.

“For all of us I guarantee you that if we continue like we are with our success this year then nobody is going to be unhappy.”

It would be great to get both players signed up, showing a real statement of intent from the board.

However, Postecoglou will have a backup plan in mind. His recruitment has been superb so far. Hopefully, this will carry over into the coming windows as he looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League.
