Fergus McCann is a man who saved Celtic. When the club were staring bankruptcy in the face, the Hoops fan came over from Canada and bled new financial and spiritual life into his boyhood team.

If it weren’t for his and the likes of Matt McGlone and Brian Dempsey’s actions, you wouldn’t be reading this article right now. Nevertheless, McCann did the business and changed history.

Now in the present day, a documentary is set to air on the 82-year-old’s takeover of Celtic. It is a short, two-part series that kicks off on Friday evening in the BBC’s ‘A View From The Terrace’ show (Glasgow Times).

The documentary itself will be able to be viewed on iPlayer from Friday evening as fans get an inside view of what truly went on with their beloved club at a crucial period in its history.

Almost 30 years on, McCann’s actions cannot be forgotten. He saved Celtic Football Club and without what he had done, countless people across Glasgow would have little reason to get excited in life.
