DOM MCKAY left his position as the Chief Executive of Celtic after just three months in the role and the PR battle has begun from Celtic to frame the exit as anything other than a calamity.

McKay was headhunted by Celtic and even shadowed Peter Lawwell two months before taking over for Peter.

The Record are coming out with the line that the job was too big for Dom and that’s why Celtic have chosen to allow Dom to leave just before his probation period was up.

Friction behind the scenes are being blamed for the breakdown.

Between what the Daily Record are spinning on behalf of the club and Dom McKay removing Celtic from his experience on LinkedIn – it’s absolute proof this was far from amicable in the end.

We can confirm the line to the London Stock Exchange that ‘personal reasons’ were at play here do not pertain to Dom’s health or anything family-related, thankfully.

This has been a business decision by the club.

Right now, it doesn’t reflect well on this board at all that they’ve removed a guy who was a fresh set of eyes on the club and who was looking to make sweeping changes.
