Dominic McKay has reacted to Celtic’s transfer window after the window closed at midnight on Tuesday.

Celtic made some decent money in this window selling Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard – even though they were both on the final year of their deal – they went for healthy transfer fees.

Money has been reinvested in the squad and on permanent deals. It wasn’t until deadline day Celtic brought in two loan players to supplement the squad.

McKay hailed the window and the efforts to get twelve new players in the door during phase one of the rebuild. Speaking to the Celtic website Dom said:

“From the skill and experience the likes of Joe Hart and James McCarthy bring to the squad, to the flair of players like Kyogo and Liel Abada, this transfer window has been a busy period for the club with 12 new players joining Ange and our squad at Celtic

“We have strengthened the squad in all areas of the pitch, with international-level talent, and while naturally disappointed to see some faces head in the opposite direction, we wish them every success in their next ventures.”

He added: “The club has worked tirelessly to get fans back into Celtic Park, and seeing the stadium full again is such a great sight. It is so pleasing to have our fans come home again.”

The club have had a lot of turnover – we will be publishing a transfer blog later today covering the ins and outs of the window.

Celtic are a work in progress – as long as McKay recognises that and doesn’t believe we’re the finished article then January should also see more change.
