CELTIC has today announced the signing of Ryan Christie on a new three-year deal.

The 23-year-old has gone from fringe player to making a big impact since the semi-final of the league cup.\

There was many who felt the player was on borrowed time at the club after coming back from an 18-month stint at Aberdeen.

A long injury list meant Christie got a chance to show what he was made of and he hasn’t looked back.

Scoring in three consecutive games and making the all important assist in Celtic’s massive win over Leipzig on Thursday has seen the little midfielder’s stock at an all time high.

His father, Charlie Christie spoke last week about interest in his son from other club’s but he felt Ryan was desperate to stay at Celtic.

Before signing this deal, Ryan’s contract was up at the end of this season. It’s a great piece of business for both parties and hopefully the beginning of a long run in the Celtic side for the former ICT man.
