Diego Laxalt, who joined Celtic on loan from A.C. Millan last summer has made a permanent move to the Russian side Dynamo Moscow. Football Italia reports the Uruguayan’s fee is in the region of around €3.5 million. A figure that would have been unthinkable last season.

After impressing on his debut in the Glasgow Derby before facing his parent club in the following game.

After his outstanding performance in the Europa League group stage fixture with Lille, fans believed the 28-year-old was the real deal but he shortly diminished.

The blame for many faults fell at Laxalt’s door, from poor positioning to laziness. The defender was then dropped from the team with Scotsman Greg Taylor starting over the loanee.

It’s a fair assessment that Laxalt had a pretty poor spell at Celtic, now in the prime of his career Diego finds himself playing out with Europes top 5 leagues. After moving to Italian giants for a fee of €19 million from Geona he hasn’t hit the heights many expected of him.

  1. “outstanding’ ‘Impressive’ what you really mean is he was not as bad as he was in other games. I don’t remember an outstanding performance from this guy. I remember a player who managed to give the ball to an opponent every time he touched it. He was garbage and does not merit the time taken to write an article about him. He disgraced the Hoops. Is there nothing going on at Celtic Park that drives you to fill space about an ex-loan player?
