It looks like SPFL bosses have decided to use Hampden for both semi-finals.

Aberdeen vs Rangers* 12pm KO

Celtic vs Hearts 19:45 KO

There had been murmurings of official sounding out Murrayfield or even moving the venue to Parkhead or Ibrox but it looks like it’s going to be a doubleheader.

Both Glasgow clubs have their hands full in the Europa League on the Thursday before the ties so it would be unfair of either of them to get the early Saturday kick off.

Only being 48 hours removed from your last game presents an issue.

All sides have got together and officials believe two games at Hampden in the one day will solve the problem.

This has it’s own downfalls as either game going to extra time in penalties means less time for turnover for the second game and if the later game goes to extra time and penalties it could be nearer midnight before fans leave Hampden.

  1. I’m happy we won’t face Hearts at Murrayfield. That would have been too much like a home tie for them. Of course they and Aberdeen could claim similar with Hampden for their Glasgow based opponents.

I’m not happy that yet again we have to play second on the surface. This has happened too many times before we always seem disadvantaged by this. Perhaps on this occasion it’s to suit the Aberdeen fans?

Hampden at night time might have a slightly better atmosphere.

I’m looking forward to us putting Naeuse and his teammates in their place.

    Hail Hail
