CELTIC take on St Mirren in the early evening kick-off on Saturday night at Celtic Park.

The two teams will fight it out for a place in the next round of the Scottish Cup. It will be a break from the day-to-day rigours of the Scottish Cup and perhaps a chance for Ange to give some of the new bhoys extra minutes.

The manager will have to weigh up any decisions knowing full well that one slip and the Hoops could bow out of the competition.

The SFA has confirmed the official list of referees, linesmen and VAR officials for this round of the competition, and Celtic fans are in for a treat. Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross will run the line at Celtic Park on Saturday. The Politician, a linesman on weekends, will be sure to receive the warmest of welcomes from the Hoops support.

The referee on the day is Stevie McLean, while the man in charge of VAR will be Colin Steven.

VAR has become a real source of frustration for the Celtic fans. The club have been on the receiving end of some awful decisions using the technology. Over and above that, the time it’s taking to confirm Celtic goals on a weekly basis is also a running joke.

  1. It’s got to the stage that we can’t even take a quick throw in now as we saw in Perth at the weekend.
Hatate tried to take a quick throw to a free Jota who had ten yards to run into in the St. Johnstone final third only for the referee to call it back for VAR to check something.
Surprisingly, as soon as St.Johnstone were back in defence, VAR waved play on.
