In the midst of the transfer window, rumours are swirling around Celtic, with one of the latest being a potential return for former player Stuart Armstrong. Armstrong, who was recently released by Southampton, is currently a free agent. The 30-year-old midfielder previously thrived under Brendan Rodgers during the Irishman’s first stint as Celtic manager.
However, scepticism surrounds these reports. The Daily Record published a story suggesting a potential reunion, based on information from Football Insider—a source known for its questionable reliability regarding Celtic and many other clubs. This particular rumour seems to be more speculative than substantial, raising concerns about its legitimacy.

Armstrong’s availability certainly makes him an attractive prospect for many clubs, but the links to Celtic appear to be unfounded at this point. The timing of the Daily Record’s publication, on a Sunday night, suggests an attempt to stir conversation rather than presenting a concrete transfer development.
The landscape of modern football journalism is increasingly populated by stories that lack substance. As fans and followers of Celtic, it’s crucial to approach such reports with caution. While Armstrong’s return might be an intriguing idea for some, there is no substantial evidence or credible source backing this claim as of now.
As the transfer window progresses, it’s essential to differentiate between genuine interest and baseless speculation. For now, the rumour linking Stuart Armstrong with a Celtic comeback falls squarely into the latter category.

If he is willing to take a serious drop in wages but could get a good signing on fee I always thought Armstrong mapped his carreer out he has seen out his contracts in and would have at Celtic but for a bid that Celtic had to take as the player was not renewing his Celtic one Armstrong knows transfer well and has made quite a bit of money for himself I’m sure epl clubs might sign him but Armstrong will go for best option no matter what he will be bucks in
Absolutely NOT!
Tried to engineer a move away last time around but when no-one showed any interest he came crawling back! Of course by then he had caused major unrest in the dressing room! No chance! Was only ever in it for himself.
