After it was revealed by Mark Hendry that Celtic have reignited their interest in St Mirren’s Dylan Reid after talks broke down during their first attempt.

The Hoops are keen to bring the young midfielder to Parkhead this summer, but there is a stumbling block. Football Scotland’s Mark Hendry believes that it could be difficult to agree on a fee with St Mirren.

Negotiations broke down last time after Celtic had a bid of £125,000 accepted, but the player wasn’t keen to leave St Mirren, opting to continue his development with the side.

It’s likely St Miren’s asking price has been upped, with the club being offered more for the player from elsewhere. Celtic will now need to fork out even more than they were initially prepared to do last time if they want the young talent at Celtic Park.

Celtic have just days to complete a transfer for the 17-year-old, with the transfer window slamming shut on Thursday.
