The news Celtic are closing in on Eddie Howe as the next manager of the football club will delight many supporters.

SunSport report the deal is verbally agreed and barring any last minute change of heart, Eddie will take over for Neil Lennon.

The same report believes there’s a very quick turnaround time when it comes to an announcement, writing it could be signed, sealed and delivered by NEXT week.

It’s our understanding Eddie will not come in and take the team this season and he will use the time he has between now and the end of the season to start making moves to improve the squad.

There’s no real indication about who he will keep on at the club with regards to coaching staff. John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan could still stay but fans would prefer a clean break.

Nothing is ever done until things are signed, supporters must now be patient and hopefully the deal goes through.
