Talks with Celtic and Eddie Howe have continued over the Easter weekend and the manager has verbally agreed in principle to take over as the next permanent Hoops manager.

The finer details of the deal are still being ironed out but as we’ve been reporting since Howe became the front runner, SunSport claim the manager will likely wait until the summer to take charge of the team.

John Kennedy will likely see out the season as interim hoops boss before the change happens.

That’s not to say Howe will not be working away in the background before then, it’s just he won’t be taking charge of any of this seasons remaining games.

There has been rumours online about a Tuesday announcement but that looks less and less likely. Dominic McKay could be the first one officially in the door this week. The SRU chief is set to come in three months early and hit the ground running this month.

  1. I suppose that’s how a respectable manager does business.

Fulfills his obligations to the club he’s signed a contract with, then moves on to his new Cub, new challenges and hopefully the best wishes of his former club.

Well, that’s how it usually works.
