We know it’s a bit frustrating talking about Eddie Howe like he’s the Celtic manager when it hasn’t been officially announced. It seems to be the worst kept secret in football at this point and the only big mystery is why it’s taking so long.

Pundits have moved past who is going to be the next Celtic boss and are now talking about who could be part of the Howe rebuild next season.

It’s our understanding Eddie Howe is making plans for next season already.

Mark Guidi on Go Radio was asked about Celtic picking up Kevin Nisbet from Hibernian this summer and if Eddie Howe would know much about the Hibs star.

Guidi Replied: “Why not? He knows his way about this league, he can score goals. When you think back, we’re going back 15-20 years.

“When you’ve got goalscorers like that, I think they can step up. If you look at the classic example – Kris Boyd, Kilmarnock to Rangers for £400k, more than a 100 goals.

“Scott McDonald – Motherwell to Celtic, £600k, handled it, no problems. So if you’ve got Kevin Nisbet available, he’s been linked with Celtic.

“I do think that for sure he’ll [Nesbit] be on a list of names presented to Eddie Howe to look at and go and do his homework on. So it wouldn’t surprise me if Kevin Nisbet ends up at Celtic next summer.”

Nisbet could come in and be one of a number of options for Celtic and add something a bit different up top. He can score goals and in a better side with better service, who knows.

Eddie Howe will have smart people around him who will help advise him on players he might not know too much about in the first instance.

Celtic have to make sure they get players in quickly over the summer. Waiting until nearer August would spell disaster for the Hoops.
