ODSONNE EDOUARD left Celtic last summer for a heft price, considering he had less than twelve months remaining on his Parkhead deal.
The French Striker had a great debut scoring a brace after appearing from the bench. It’s fair to say he set a high standard that he didn’t really match for the rest of the season. Viera commonly deployed him on the left wing but would appear from the bench more often than not.
Edouard has opened up on struggling to adapt to the English league ahead of the new season. He’ll be hoping to impress this season; after all, he knows what to expect now. As quoted by Glasgow Live, the striker stated;
“It was a good season, [but] it’s not easy to come from Scotland and play in England because it’s the best league in the world. But the team helped me to adapt very well, and I’m looking forward to this season.
“Scotland is very different – everything is different. The technique, the intensity [of the league], the [style] of the teams that we play against – it was very different.
“It’s important to have some competition in the team, and Mateta is a good player and a good striker, so we’ll see. I need to work hard this week.
“It was a good pre-season – we worked very hard and want to be ready for the first game.”
Edouard had a good pre-season, scoring a few goals. He’ll be hoping that he’s impressed the manager and can force his way into the Palace team.
Postecoglou’s Celtic Upgrade
It was clear that French Eddy had downed his tools at Celtic; he wasn’t prepared to put the shift in that Kyogo was.
