Neil Lennon was asked about if he thinks there could be movement for players to leave in January if bids come in for some of his stars.

One journalist asked specifically about the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer who both are about to enter the last 18 months of their deals with the club.

The Celtic manager gave the same answer as he did in the summer, nobody is actively for sale:

“We’re not looking to sell anybody and we’re not encouraging any bids for our players.” Lennon told CelticTV.

While Celtic fans don’t want to see star players leave, if they aren’t pulling their weight in the first team it would be better to cash in on some of the players who might already have their eye on a move away from the club.

Having 18 months left on any deal means you can still get top value for the player, in the summer, when they are entering the final 12 months, it’s very difficult to get the top market value for your players.

This would all hinge on Celtic having positive replacements to slot straight into the team which remains to be seen.

Celtic could be well and truly out of the title race by the start of January unless they get their act together.
