ODSONNE EDOUARD directly addressed the link between himself and Arsenal with the Celtic striker giving the Gunners little encouragement in their quest to land a new talisman.

Eddy has been named Celtic player of the year and Scottish football writer player of the year this season and has truly taken his game to new heights.

His call up to the France under 21s also causing waves with a prolific scoring spree for his country.

With the striker having two years left on his contract, supporters hope the club can keep a hold of the star for a little while longer. It’s not going to be easy but if Celtic can strike a deal with the Eddy, it could be the deal that lands ten in a row.

Asked about the Arsenal link, Eddy said:

‘It is flattering, but I just concentrate on trying to play well for Celtic.” Edouard told The Metro.

‘That’s what I am focused on at the moment. ‘Of course, winning 10-in-a-row is very important for the club, the players and the fans. ‘Of course I would love to be part of it. No-one knows what will happen in the future, but I want to be a part of it.’

It’s great to hear Edouard saying he wants to be part of the squad. We can’t say for certain he will be here by the end of the window but the signs are he isn’t pushing for a move at this point.

We stopped trying to second guess players leaving the club after last summer when Keiran Tierney left Celtic two years shy of the ten. Everybody has a price, let’s hope nobody wants to test Celtic’s resolve.
