Before Odsonne Edouard was ever in a Celtic shirt, the striker was in trouble back in France for an incident with an air rifle.

While on loan with Toulouse, the Frenchman was charged with assault with an air rifle after shooting a passer-by with the weapon.

The victim Francis Guiral claimed he is now deaf in one ear after the incident and has taken Eddy to court since then. However, until now the striker has ignored all court-related matters. The former Hoops star was ordered to pay £20,036 by the French Chamber of Civil interests.

Glasgow Times is now reporting Guiral has now been compensated after the 2017 incident. The Toulouse President Damien Comolli taking a personal approach to getting it sorted.

Francis Guiral confirmed things have now come to an end:

“Since we started this process, he’s played dead. Odsonne did not come to court and he had never paid the sum he is owed me for my care.

“I can no longer hear anything from that ear and I have lost my balance.

“Damien Comolli contacted me and promised to help and offered me support. He wrote that he was sorry I was in this position and about the physical and psychological consequences that I have to endure.

“He gave me an email address belonging to a member of Crystal Palace.

“And now it’s finally over.”

Eddy moved to Crystal Palace on deadline day after making it clear to the club he wanted to move on.

The striker is working under French legend Patrick Viera and has had a decent start to his Premier League career.
