ODSONNE EDOUARD must have been sick to death of talking about his future at Tuesday’s press conference. The player was in the spotlight for winning SPFL player of the month for August and rightly so. However, nobody at the press conference wanted to talk about the award and instead embarked on a mission to dig out a quote that could hint at a Celtic exit.

The Frenchman was speaking through an interpreter for the press conference and conducted himself very well. After batting away so many questions already over his future the player was then asked if he would be here for ten in a row.

Odsonne was quick to point out that nine in a row was still up for grabs and that was his main focus. The striker rightly gave no guarantees beyond this season about his Celtic status because we just don’t know what’s going to happen.

The player did point he knows the importance of the next to seasons to Celtic and hinted at a ten in a row stay.

“Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.” Edouard told SunSport.“We still have this season to come and we will see what happens at the end of it.

“Then we can talk about what might happen after that.

“We’ll see how it goes. Will I be here for that? I have a long contract, so we’ll see.

“Of course, I’m very aware of how important this is for Celtic.

“This is my third season here so I have been part of this and I want to be part of it because it’s really important for me as well to achieve that.”
