NEIL LENNON has given his response to the claim Lazio want to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

The speculation came to light yesterday with reports in Italy claiming the Frenchman was being lined up for a move to Lazio if they can’t convince their current striker Filipe Caicedo to stay.

When asked about the possibility of Celtic’s star striker leaving the club before Monday’s deadline – Neil Lennon made his stance very clear.

“We don’t want him to go, you can see we have the makings of a very good team and it’s important to keep your kingpins and he is certainly one of them.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“I think there is more to come from this team.”

Edouard didn’t get among the goals against AIK on Thursday night but still had a top game. The frontman did give us a scare late on but The Celtic manager confirmed it was only cramp.

There’s no way any Celtic fan wants to see a repeat of last summer’s window when Celtic sold Moussa Dembele right before the window shut. Something like this would be unthinkable. Celtic are in the Europa league and will need the big man for all four competitions.
