NEIL LENNON has spoken out about the potential of Odsonne Edouard leaving the club this summer but also the potential of the Frenchman signing a new deal.

Right now, there’s not football to be played because of the shutdown and it’s putting financial pressure on every club.

Lenny believes the financial loss Celtic are currently taking could have an adverse effect on his ability to keep the striker for one more season. Edouard is signed up for another two campaigns but Celtic wouldn’t likely risk Edouard going into the final year of his deals

The Celtic gaffer talks about getting Eddy signed up for another season so we can keep him for the ten in a row push.

“Ideally we’d like to sit down with him [Edouard].” Lennon told RecordSport.

“The landscape has changed from where we were a month ago to now. There’s no doubt about that.

“It’s uncertain. Ideally you would like to keep your prized assets for at least another year anyway.

“If the market galvanises itself again, you could look at it then.

“There’s no question there’s going to be interest in him, but, ideally, we’d like to tie him down to another year on top of what he has already and keep him here.”

Edouard and his advisors will have a big decision to make over the summer. When the transfer window does open, the player will be in demand. His form this season has been fantastic, Eddy is Celtic’s MVP and we hope the club will actively pursue a new deal.
