It has been confirmed by Tranmere Rovers that the club have signed goalkeeper Ross Doohan from Celtic for an undisclosed fee.

Having been at Rovers last season, it is no surprise that the club wanted to make the deal permanent with the keeper having the joint best clean sheet record in the division.

The former Celtic goalkeeper has signed a two year contract with Tranmere plus a further year option.

The 24-year old has experienced various different loan deals while at Celtic with his most regular spell coming at Ayr United.

He joins up with former Dundee United boss Micky Mellon who had Doohan for a short time at Tannadice.

It’s another keeper out the door for the Hoops as the department looks to be taking shape with the arrival on Benjamin Siegrist who featured in the second half of Celtic’s 7-0 victory this evening.

Another Celtic keeper who is currently out on loan is Quadruple Treble cup final hero Conor Hazard who started for HJK Helsinki tonight in their Champions League qualifier against FK RFS which they won 1-0.

Tobi Oluwayemi is part of the squad which has travelled to Austria and looks as if he is ahead of Hazard in the pecking order which would suggest the Northern Irish international may not have a future at Celtic.

All the very best to Ross Doohan for the rest of his career.
