Appointed in January 2024 as the first female head coach in Celtic FC Women’s history, Sadiku quickly made her mark by leading the team to their inaugural Scottish Women’s Premier League title. The championship was decided on goal difference, with Celtic edging out Rangers in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.

Sadiku also oversaw the team’s historic qualification for the group stages of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, a first for Celtic Women.

The Best FIFA Women’s Coach Award celebrates exceptional managerial performances in women’s football. Sadiku’s nomination places her alongside the sport’s top coaches, which is a great bit of recognition.

Voting for the award is open to fans, national team coaches, captains, and journalists, with the winners set to be revealed in early 2025.

Since taking charge, Sadiku has not only delivered silverware but also raised the profile of Celtic Women in domestic and international football.

Whether she wins the award or not, it’s still terrific to be nominated.
