NEIL LENNON has delivered a major Mohamed Elyounoussi injury update and at the same time taken the blame for his longer absence from the side.

Moi was just hitting his stride at Celtic when a foot injury would stop him dead in his tracks. The League Cup semi-final against Hibernian highlighting everything the player could do.

Neil Lennon took a major risk in the final and played Moi in the first half of the Hampden Glasgow Derby. In hindsight, it was the worst decision he could have made at the time. Moi didn’t play well and it only served to elongate his time out injured.

Now, in the final throws of January is the player getting set to make a comeback to the training field. Neil Lennon has acknowledged he rushed the Norwegian back too soon.

“He should be fit by the end of the month,” he said. “He’s out on the grass now doing some fitness work. It’s been a long one for him after coming back a little bit early for the cup final.” Lennon told The National.

“He has a stress reaction on his foot and after the cup final is flared up again. It’s not been able to settle but hopefully he’ll be okay by the end of the month.”

Moi would slot straight back into the Celtic team right now and add that killer instinct we’ve been missing in the final third at times. Hopefully he will be ready come mid February.
