If anybody wanted a brief insight into our new Chief Executive and the way he does business, look no further.

We were pleased to hear on Monday’s ACSOM Dominic McKay is already engaging with the Celtic support.

Host of the podcast, Paul John Dykes brought Celtic fan, John Traynor onto the daily podcast to speak about his new book. John, known as ‘The Bhard of Paradise’ wrote ‘A Paradise Anthology’ which he was encouraged to send to Celtic and more specifically the Celtic Foundation.

The thought behind it being John would donate the book and any sales of the book to the Celtic Foundation. The Hoops charity continue to do amazing work and have helped so many families this year during difficult times.

Speaking on the ACSOM podcast, John was kind enough to share a phone call he received a couple of weeks back after the book had been sent. It was Dominic McKay…

“One Saturday morning a few weeks ago, the phone went ‘Hello, is that John? This is Dominic McKay’ and I thought, I don’t know a Dominic McKay then the penny dropped”

“Dominic said’ We’ve got this book, it looks great’

“It was a wee polite conversation that spoke volumes for the man, that he took the time to do that

“A few days later, Tony Hamilton from The Foundation phoned and he said he would like to do something and pass it onto his people and it rolled from there. “

It’s extremely encouraging that Dominic McKay took the time to phone John. It might not seem like much but it speaks to a man who wants to engage with the Celtic support, bearing in mind he’s yet to officially take over at the club.

Since the announcement of McKay’s appointment, we have already seen better engagement from the club. CeltsAreHere.com along with ACSOM and many other fan-led media sites were invited to a trial press conference via zoom where we got to chat to David Turnbull and John Kennedy. We hope that’s just the first of many engagements with the club.

You can buy John’s book here – A Paradise Anthology and all profits from the book will go straight to the Celtic Foundation.
