It appears increasingly unlikely we will see invincible star Craig Gordon in a Celtic jersey again with what has transpired in the last week.

Hearts have been looking to bring the player back to the club and the goalkeeper went on record with talksport about the disappointing contract talks with the Scottish Champions.

It appears the player has another offer on the table now, with Derby showing interest in bringing in the 37-year-old according to SunSport.

Craig was back up to Fraser Forster last season but the Southampton goalkeeper’s Parkhead future is far from certain. If the club can’t land the goalkeeper then Craig Gordon’s worth to the club is more than perhaps they’re willing to admit.

However, timing might just be the deciding factor here. Gordon will want to get his future sorted as soon as possible, and he might want to get a deal done with someone else while any club he’s negotiating with no Celtic are still at the table.

  1. I doubt very much that Celtic have offered him a deal 80% less than what he’s now on, I think he realises it’s maybe his last throw of the dice, and he’s trying to milk it for as much as possible. If he stays then fair play to him, but if he goes, I thank him for his service the last 6 seasons and wish him well at whatever club he joins .
