Ralph Hassenhutl has opened the door for Celtic loanee Mohamed Elyounoussi to make a return to the club in the summer and show his worth to the Austrian manager ahead of next season.

As quoted by HampshireLive, when questioned around if Elyounoussi could be the answer to their lack of wide options, Hassenhutl revealed a few players are in his mind, opening the door for the winger to make a successful return.

“You can be sure that we have a few players in our mind, yes.

“Whenever a player is out on loan, we try to follow them. We try to get the latest information about their performances and their physical condition.

“We do this and, yes, we are looking at a few and everybody who does well has a chance to come back in the summer. This is how it should be.”

This campaign has certainly been an up and down one for Elyounoussi, as it has for the club as a whole.

Currently, he is one of the clubs top goalscorers with 13 for the season whilst also providing six assists.

At times he has shown the quality he possesses, over the two loan spells he has spent at the club but like many wingers, the Norweigan can have his inconsistent spells.

It should be interesting to see if he remains at the English Premier League side next season, with the number of injuries they have suffered in wide areas or if the club will go back in for him to return for the third time.
