English Premier League side Leeds United are reportedly interested in Celtic academy prospect Matthew Anderson.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are looking to bring in the 17-year old left-back who in the past has been compared to another academy graduate Kieran Tierney by one of his former coaches.

Anderson signed his first professional contract with the Hoops back in January of last year and has been part of former defender Darren O’Dea’s under 18s side.

This isn’t the only Celtic youngster that Marcelo Bielsa’s side is interested in, with Norweigan Leo Hjelde being suggested as a possible target.

Fans have been left frustrated in the last few years at the number of talents we have seen depart to join other clubs, due to the limited chances that youngsters have failed to get in the first-team.

So, to see two more leave and head down south to Leeds United would add to that, when we should be looking to keep our best young talents to feature in the side in the next few years.
