CELTIC have done what they needed to do and smashed AIK 6-1 on aggregate now finding themselves in the draw for the Europa League which will take place on Friday morning at UEFA headquarters.

It may not be the Champions League but some of the clubs Celtic can draw could make for some memorable nights at Celtic Park over the next three months.

Celtic will be in Pot 2 of the draw.

There are some top clubs in Pot 1 who Celtic could be paired up with; a potential doubleheader against Kieran Tierney and Arsenal is a possibility. Manchester Utd and Roma also two top sides Celtic could find themselves up against.

Pot 3 and Pot 4 also throw up some tasty fixtures and the one that sticks out from Pot 4 is a possible return to Romania to take on Cluj. No doubt the bhoys would love another crack at Dan Petrescu’s side.

Draw procedure

  • The 48 entrants are split into four seeding pots based on their club coefficients, with each of the eventual 12 groups to contain one team from each seeding tier.
  • No team can play a club from their own association, with the exact draw procedure confirmed before the ceremony.
