CELTIC FANS picked up FIFA’s best fan award for 2017 last night after being shortlisted with Dortmund and Copenhagen.
The Green Brigade’s inspired Lisbon Lion Tifo was why Celtic made the shortlist in the first place. So a massive shoutout to the Green Brigade lads!
Eurosport delighted and infuriated in equal measure last night when they posted an ‘eight reasons why Celtic fans are the best’ video. Delighting the Celtic fans and infuriating any of the club’s detractors who would rather see us pulled down into the gutter with them.
We enjoyed the video so much that we had to share it with our readers and give a big shout out to Desmond Kane for his write-up on Celtic on the Eurosport Website.

Well deserved, we are the best fans in the world, but there should have been a special award for the German fans who opened their doors to accommodate visiting fans after the bombings. It’s a totally different thing but needed some kind of acknowledgement.

So sad that there is so much bitterness out there from the other side of Glasgow and the media. I have watched all the news programs today and not ONE mention of our clubs fans achievement, it says a lot about the UK media and press, as for the other side of town they did not disappoint us with there diatribe and verbal diarrhea. Usual stuff again, folk more bothered about another set of fans say rather than congratulating ourselves on an incredible achievement.
The Green Brigade get pilloried for a lot of things, quite rightly so concerning some things, but credit where credit is due , they invoke everything that makes us, what moves us , about the team, the club. A sense of belonging. I’m an old man, loved the jungle and buzz we used to get being part of that but these young folk have grasped the nettle and moved us further up the ladder. Songs are changing and it will take time on the terraces. As in all families we will always disagree on certain things. As long as we have healthy respect and don’t endanger anyone. A massive well done to the best supporters in the world. FIFA 2017.
