Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops squad are ‘pumped’ for the up-and-coming derby fixture this Wednesday.

The former Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper has experienced the derby fixture once this season. However, that was without the prospect of the Celtic support being at the ground to back the squad.

Speaking in the aftermath of Saturday’s dramatic 1-0 victory over Dundee United, Hart stated that he and his fellow teammates are excited at the prospect of the top of the table clash as the two sides prepare to face off for the 2nd time this season.

“It’s going to be a big night,” Hart said when speaking to CelticTV.

“Everyone’s pumped, everyone’s excited.

“It’s our next game, so we can actually focus on it, but it’s one game and one game where we need to perform to the levels we set ourselves that we didn’t quite reach today.

“I think that’s more important.”

It has been a bit of a longer wait for many of Ange Postecoglou’s squad to face Rangers for the first time, with the likes of Cameron Carter Vickers and Jota signing in the aftermath of the earlier derby fixture of the season.

Adding in the current momentum the Hoops take into this one, this group of players are likely to be buzzing and full of confidence heading into this one.

A player like Hart could potentially be absolutely crucial on the night, using all his experience gained from playing at the highest level.
