Former Celtic academy prospect, Jack Aitchison has returned to the scoresheet for the first time since February after making his first appearance since October due to injury.

The 20-year old left the club this summer to join English Championship side Barnsley in search for first-team football away from his boyhood club, with several players ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.

Towards the end of the window, Aitchison was loaned out to League Two side Stevenage in order to gain more first-team experience but has faced injury problems in recent months.

However, yesterday the striker made a return to the squad for the first time since the end of October as a substitute and managed to grab the equaliser in the game with 10 minutes left remaining in the game against Cheltenham.

Aitchison remains in the Celtic history books as the youngster ever goalscorer in the 7-0 win over Motherwell on the final day of the 2015/16 season.

Unfortunately, since then he wasn’t able to break through, only making a handful of appearances for the club.

Fingers crossed his career can really kick on from here as it is always good to see former academy products go on and do well.
