FORMER Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has been released by Derby County just months after his arrival at the club.
What’s more is the player has been released without making a single appearance for Frank Lampard’s side.
The Nigerian was under contract at Hibs until this summer where Neil Lennon had signed him. However, the Nigerian has a clause in his contract to break his deal six months before it was actually due to finish.
The defender left the club and it was weeks later he turned out at Derby County with Lampard bringing him into the fold.
It appears a rather bizarre move in the end where Efe got a few months of decent wages for doing absolutely nothing.
The player becomes a free agent now and is able to sign for a new club. Celtic are actively looking for defenders so nobody tell Peter Lawwell!
