SKY SPORTS co-commentator and Ex-Celt Davie Provan has challenged the Celtic board to throw the ‘kitchen sink’ at the January transfer window and leave no stone unturned in Celtic’s pursuit for progress in Europe.

Writing in his SunSport column, the outspoken Provan has gone after the Celtic board in the hope they will spend cash in the window to give Rodgers every chance of getting to the last 16 of the competition.

He wrote: “The board’s inertia last summer has seen the team go backwards by Rodgers’ own admission.

“What’s it to be this time around? The Hoops board never tires of telling us how much money they’re sitting on.

“It’s time they gave Rodgers some serious backing in Europe. One look at the list of clubs in the draw should have Celtic throwing the kitchen sink at it.”

Celtic will find out on Monday afternoon who they will be facing in the round of 32.

There are some big ties in there but there are some really winnable games for The Bhoys if they get the luck of the draw.

It’s very important the club do not have another shambolic transfer window after two in a row.

  1. Do Celtic really need to spend????????????????? That financial question is moot if you ask the people holding the cash. As everyone in the seats could tell you. Even the prawn salad crowd behind the glass say yes. But sell all the midfielders, et al Celtic have in excess.

  2. Why should any one listen to a little prick like Provan???. His week end trips was for us to sign another midden(just like himself) Naiysmith!!! For God sake, has this midden lost all his marbles¿ What a tosser, since he got yon head of curls chopped off it has gone too his “heir”!!! Go away you silly little man!!
