When it comes to tomorrow’s Scotland squad being announced, ahead of the nations fixtures against Austria, Israel and Faroe Islands, you wouldn’t be surprised to see barely any changes from the squad that qualified for the Euros back in November.

However, one Celtic star should be in line for his first call-up to Steve Clarke’s squad.

That man is David Turnbull.

The 21-year old has been one of the few shining lights for the Hoops this season with 14 goal contributions in 31 appearances, becoming a stalwart in the side from November onwards.

With the form that he has been in, he certainly deserves a call-up to the international side. It would be an amazing few months for the former Motherwell man, who was sitting on the bench for the under-21s squad and has now become one of the star names for Celtic.

Come tomorrow’s announcement, there could be a chance of a few surprise players or first call-ups with the likes of Hoops loanee Jack Hendry and Ryan Gauld being mentioned in the conversation. But Turnbull has definitely proved that he deserves the chance to join up with the squad and likely a few of his club team-mates at the end of this month.
