Celtic fans got some brand new gifts over the Christmas holidays, the type of gifts you got as a kid on Christmas morning but can’t play with straight away for whatever reason.

Celtic fans have had to endure a dry January with regards to watching their team after the winter break was brought forward over the scourge of rising COVID cases. The Hoops rather unusually brought three new signings to Paradise hours before the transfer window opened.

New signings, Yosuke Ideguchi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda are all available for selection for the Celts first game of 2022.

The Cinch Premiership resumes tonight with a visit from Shaun Maloney’s Hibs team. Celtic fans will be eager to see tonight’s team sheet with the hope of some debuts and maybe the return of some injured players, most notably Jota and Kyogo.

With the teams just release moments ago the wait is over, this is the Celtic team sheet for tonight’s clash:

Hoops fans will get their wish tonight as two new debutants, Maeda and Hatate get a start while Guchi is named on the bench. James Forrest is also back after weeks absent from injury.

Kyogo doesn’t make the matchday squad but Jota is also on the bench.

Celtic are unbeaten in nine league matches against Hibernian (W4 D5) since a 0-2 defeat in December 2018. Hibs are winless in 14 league games at Celtic Park (D4 L10), with their last away league win over Celtic coming in January 2010.

The Bhoys are unbeaten in 15 home league matches since a 1-2 defeat to St. Mirren in January 2021. The Hoops have scored 37 and conceded just four goals in this run.
